I refuse to believe that anyone who falls for lootboxes or microtransactions are sentient. They are all subhuman and deserve to have their money stolen.
unless you got money to burn and the happiness gained vs money spent is in your favor. not everyone is poor.

honestly i'd buy a couple crates and keys for BLHats just for the forget of it

Or you could buy a quad, a new car, a new tv, new furniture, a different video game... If you are wasting your money on this stuff you are an idiot and deserve to have your money stolen. Simple as that.

i honestly hate p2p item markets more than i do singular user cash shops.

or maybe you already got a new car, don't smoke, and have a good tv and furniture already?
wasting money is subjective, some people have money to burn for what could seem wasteful to others on lower socioeconomic planes.

In Destiny 2, all the special cosmetic goods can be naturally obtained through the game or purchase for money (as well as standard loot drops from chests, activity rewards, vendors and fallen enemies, every Level gained after 20 in D2 rewards a lootbox called a Bright Engram, which can also be purchased with the microtransaction currency called "Silver"). I've spent nearly $100 on lootboxes through Destiny 1 and 2, and gotten the rewards I seeked as well as plenty of other stuff I didn't know I wanted until I had it. I'm totally fine with this system.

Where it gets stupid is if the boxes offer items which go beyond cosmetics, and offer some PvP benefit. I have no problem with PvE/Cooperative benefit goods, but anything that creates an uneven standing in the Competitive realm is no good.

I don't understand your point?

Money is used to purchase goods and services of equivalent personal value. Some people like to play a lot of a specific game, and they get value out of having certain items in that game. This is no different from buying a movie ticket, a Scratchie or a tin of biscuits to satisfy an desire.

If people choose to save for more expensive goods, that's great. If they don't, that's fine too so long as it's not a detriment to their most basic bills.

I'm just amazed at how frustrated you are that people spend money to satisfy themselves. Are you not getting any satisfaction in life? Is this because you're secretly a penny-pinching Jew deep-down and you like to take it out on other people for living their own lives?
