Author Topic: Port Forwarding on Mac  (Read 1273 times)

I've seen a lot of topics on forwarding ports on a Windows based OS... but what about a Mac? Does anyone know a very detailed step by step process to do port forwarding for the Mac version of Blockland?

It should be essentially the same, just connect to your router's IP in Safari. I don't have a Mac, but you should be able to find the IP of your computer and router in the System Preferences->Network->TCP/IP.

Post a screenshot of that section.

I was wondering the same thing too. But we us both mac+PC at our house. Our computer thats pluged into the router is a PC. Would that make any difference? We might be getting a new DSL modem so i may be able to host!

Hm, that's a pretty informative screen. The address to enter into Safari is 192.168.1.1, and the port forwarding should be set for 192.168.1.45.

Seems simple enough unless your router's configuration page is a pain.

Does the connection have to be land based in order to host?? My friend has been trying to do this with a wireless connection...

No it does not but hosting on a wireless connection will almost certainly cause really bad lag for anyone who is connected to the server.

i don't get a router ip - its plain blank! Where can I find it? On a mac too.

wait forget that post that was dumb
