Author Topic: speakers won't work  (Read 810 times)

they were working yesterday and I boot up today and they're just not

I did literally everything that was recommended by microsoft (update drivers, yada yada yada), nothing worked

the left speaker is the main speaker so that's where the sound is supposed to come out the most, but it plays nothing
in order to hear anything you have to turn the dial up all the way and then you can slightly hear audio from the right speaker

help

open the volume mixer. is everything up?

are they plugged all the way in? if they are then try turning the jack.

Test if it's an issue with the speaker itself or the jack on your computer- hook it up to your phone and play something.

they are

plugged it into a different speaker and it works fine
it's the speakers
there has to be a fix for this that doesn't involve buying new speakers because they were working better than fine yesterday, you'd think if they were failing I would be able to hear it

if there's a fix you're gonna have to open it up and it would probably be cheaper just to buy a new set of speakers

I played around with the audio jack for the speakers and if it's slightly out a bit it comes out fine from both speakers for a fraction of a second

If the cable between the speakers and your computer is removable, try using a different one. Might just be a bad cable.

there's two sets of red and white jacks on the main speaker, so I switched them and it plays fine now though most of the sound comes out of the right speaker now instead of the left
