Author Topic: Music  (Read 920 times)

Hello, This is my first post on the blockland forums. I am not going to purchase the game until Version 9 comes out hopefully during the summer. But while I wait, I would like to know, What kind of thing does it have to be to play in blockland (stereo/mono) and how do I make it one or the other. Thank you, and Please, Give constructive criticism not just ''ZOMG ITS A NOOB, RUN".

Welcome to the forums, TheMod. Glad to have you with us. Anywho...

To make it so music files are playable in-game, they must be mono. You can use any audio editing program, but the easiest and most commonly used is audacity. You can find it here. When you edit your files the way you want them, make sure that they are mono, and then export it as an OGG file (.ogg).

I hope my reply has been helpful.

Whoops, double-post. I was going to try and edit my post, and out of force of habit, clicked on the general area where the "modify" button is. Too bad the help section doesn't have one.

Thank you soo much. I will be having music up. I know how to edit everything, Just not sure if it has to be stereo or mono to play them in game. Please Ace can you answer one final question. How do I make it mono?

Wow. A new comer with so many great things in his post. Proper grammer, Knows that Triple posting is bad. Wow. I think this guys got some potential. Welcome TheMod.

First, when your track is pulled up, there are usually two tracks to it. If it's stereo, it'll say it already in the box next to the track. If it's already mono, all you need to do is export.

If it is stereo, you want to click the drop-down menu with the track's name in it, and select "Split Stereo Track" This is indicated in the red box:

Next, you need to click the drop-down menu again, but only on the top track. Select "Mono" from the menu, like shown:

After that, you can get rid of the bottom track by clicking the X on it's window. Be sure to keep the top track. Go to the pull-down menu way up at the top, labeled "File" and go down and select the option "Export as Ogg Vorbis" Now all you need to do is simply name your file, and export it to base/data/sounds/music in your Blockland folder. Hope this helps.

And yes, I apologize for that triple post. I'm so used to there being a "modify" button there, I just don't even think about it.
