how do i get a server to work

ok, i messed up my freaking computer, i got the port right but what dose all of the other stuff have to be?

you put your port where it supposed to be on your router page....make sure its 28000

Try going to your control panel>network connections

Then right click on the connection that your using and go to properties.

Go down to internet protocol and hit the properties button below,once you've done that fill in all of the information there, it can be found on your router page.
If you have a mac then this might not have any use.

..what do you mean anything else thats the only way, doing stuff in your router and internet to get people to connect to you

Im sorry but Im on a Vista, and Im not sure if hes on one or not, but it doesnt work for me, I cant right click on my internet connection, but I can click (on the same line as "Connection) "View Stats", and then edit some stuff.
Do you know what I should do?
And tell me if you need a picture of what I have in my menu.
Oh, and in my Control Panel all I have is "Network and Sharing Center" but thats the only thing with Network in it.
Please help.
