Do you have a static IP?

Static ip would be very usfull when you have to forward your ports

Static ip.=example.192.168.2.1

is my static ip like my router ip?

A static ip I think is where you make your computer always have the same IP since you'll have to reforward ports every time your internal ip changes. Port forwarding also gets more complex if you have more than one router connected so keep that in mind.

where or how do i find my static ip?

I might be wrong and static IP might make all inbound traffic go to the static IP. But the one I'm thinking of is set up in advanced lan settings in my netgear router. It's been awhile so I can't remember much, but you use your MAC address (found in my computer properties somewhere) to identify your computer and also give an ip you want your computer to be.

you can't FIND the static IP, you have to make it. Just use the IP your using now and set it as static. The instructions on making a static should be on the same webpage that told you how to PF.

I read that whole thing word for word there wasnt anything in there about static IP.

what router are you using? if you log in to it the name should be at the top of your internet browser.
