Is there a way to make a background image in sketchup cause im starting to use it.

Save yourself some heartache, learn to model correctly (or at least in ways pertinent to game design). Use a program that can actually export to the proper formats, like MS3D or Maya, Blender, 3DS Max, etc.

It's quite a change from SU to most other programs, so it's best to learn the right way, the first time around.

And of course you're the prime example of a great modeler, so everyone should follow your advice. Sketchup may not be made for game modeling, but that doesn't mean it can't be used for it.

I have ms3d what do you think I model everything els with? I just wanna toy around with sketch up.

I was under the impression he was trying to take the easy road, which would just hurt his chances in the future. As it turns out, he has MS3D already so maybe it really isn't a concern, but how was I to know.

I never claimed to be a great modeler, but I do have experience with sketchup, MS3D and other parametric 3D CAD software. At one point I did do some work for a mod team using sketchup, but it can really hold people (including myself) back when you get stuck in the extrusion way of modeling.
