What to do during a server hacking

Recently I was in a server and it turned out that it was spammed by a hacker and i just want to know what to do and how to trace him?(If Possible) Just for future refrence.

There's a log file in the main blockland dir called console.log. AFAIK it doesn't log the IP names but I think at least the user names are in it. Maybe someone could write a script that output all joining IPs along with their user names to a text file?

You can see the IPs in the console if your server doesn't get spammed too hard.

i got a question that relates to spamming i think, but didnt want to make a whole thread about it to spam the board.

every so often in my server i admin tele to everyone to see what they are working on, where they are, if they need to be kicked, or being idle for a hour and havnt done anything.

i find that someone (usually a blockdude) is far far away, looped over the map's islands over, and over very far away.
and is down under the terrain sitting there. so i ban them always asuming they are spammers trying something.

as they glitched into the ground anyway and arnt doing anything. (not that i have reason to trust blockdudes anyway)

what are these people attempting?

Just because someone spams you doesn't mean they're a hacker. Maybe a scripter, but not a hacker.

Me and a few guys were working on an awesome jumping challenge (Version 2) And somebody came in and planted bombs on EVERY singlular brick, and blew them all at about the same time :-( Makes me sad that such things can and do happen.
