On the first rectangle, 2x=2, and 4x+2=6.
On the second, 4x=4.
4+4+4+4=6+6+2+2.

  4x+2+2x=4x+4x
       combine like terms(x's)
    2=2x
       divide
      x=1
      substitute
         4(1)+2+2(1)........  rectangle a=8
        
          4(1)+4(1)........... rectangle b=8
