Restate your question, You weren't very clear. I'm pretty sure what you're asking is: "Under network settings in the options menu, What setting do I chose?"

Okay, Well I'm sure that doesn't matter much, Just select Cable. It doesn't really have anything to do with your not being able to host a server. What really matters is if you have the correct ports forwarded.
