Author Topic: Static IP Address help.  (Read 697 times)

I just notice that you need a static IP address to host an online server. Does it cost money to get one (My dad say's so). If it does. Is there a way to get a free static IP? Legally?

I believe you already have one, if you have a router. I don't remember, since there is an internal IP, and an external, and a bunch of other weird things. Kinda hard to understand.

I got netgear.

An ISP static IP does not matter.
Your local IP (probably not the correct term), is what matters, and is self configured.
