Dedicated server, what?

what is a dedictated/non-dedicated server, can i use add-ons of dedicated servers.
if my freinds hosts a LAN party, can i use my add-ons on his server?

If you host a normal internet game, whatever add-ons you checked in will be checked in automatically for the dedicated server.  You host a dedicated server by double clicking the dedicated.bat file in your blockland folder.
