Vista question: Brother's shortcut icons appearing on my desktop?

Okay, so every time my brother installs something and it creates a shortcut on the desktop, it gets created on mine, but i don't want his icons clogging up my desktop, and when i delete them, it gets deleted off of his desktop, how do i make it so his shortcuts stop appearing on my desktop or make it so when i delete his shortcut icon(s) off my desktop, it don't get deleted off of his?

Same thing happens every now and then on one of my computers. Only it runs XP

I assume you are using separate user accounts?

If so, then your best bet would be to install the programs under just one account. Most installers should give you this option. If they don't then perhaps you could choose to install the programs in C:/username/program files...
