I consider myself a "quiet" atheist in that regard. I only mention my stance if asked or if it is pertinent to the conversation.

Both sides are equally guilty of having extremist factions who do go on new networks and write books about how evil the other group is. Fair enough to be mad at that...that is the idea. Anger sells novels and news stories.

There is that one crazy religious lady who appears on the news quite a lot...can't remember her name. Basically her whole family goes around protesting at the funerals of dead homoloveual soldiers. She appears high in every picture or video I have seen of her. Now she makes me mad. Not because the deceased is from some kind of minority/belief but because she lacks the decency to save her anguished cries for attention for another more suitable occasion.

It's their way of generating shock media attention. Or they are genuinely messed up in the head.

I'd suggest you read a few books on philosophy depending on how interested you are.

I've received 6 detentions for reading these books at school.

NO-ONE CAN STOP MY BELIEFS.

Christian schools are filled with idea-national socialists. Pretty much they expect you to believe what is being told and take it as if it is 100% factual. Really getting labeled as having extreme ideas (may not seem that way) in a structured and rigid system usually isn't a good thing to do. You can be mature, hold onto your beliefs, and not create a target so that other's can manipulate you or take you down.

I prefer Sartre.

In Australia, if you want a better education, you go to a religious school. The only downside is the community.

Good piece of advice for those in a situation like that.

I just finished brown townysing Satre's play "No Exit". Pretty good stuff. Dragged on a bit too long however.
