Author Topic: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Problems...  (Read 1157 times)

I'm having some annoying problems with my new ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
I also have a ATI Radeon 9200SE and it works perfectly for Blockland.

Here are some pics:

I already tried flushtexturecache(); but it dosen't help, but it does help when it flips out and you see crazy rainbow polygons all over.

Oh, and I'm NOT using Windows Vista. I'm using Windows XP.

I found out this dosen't happen in Wine under Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit.
And by the way, I think this is obvious but it is a AGP 8X card.
I will post specs if asked for.

Try updating your drivers.
I've had the same problem because my drivers weren't updated.
How recently have you performed a system update? It also happened to me when I had updates pending.

I already tried that.
I got my drivers from ATI's site.
another bump

Umm, what the heck. I find that I didn't get SP3 but I thought I did (this comp is old).

I tried to install SP3, and it was all fine but no luck. Darn :(
That, and I uninstalled my blockland with all my stuff too by mistake instead of the other clean install I was testing with. :(
Luckily, there's another computer around that has most, if not all the builds I have.

Bump.
It still is acting stupid.

im pretty sure the 9800 is desighned around games that are intense in graphics.  the card obviusly does not have support for some of blcklands graphics features, or the game engine itself. I dont think this is a olvable problem, although you could try the

flushtexture command. not sure what it is though.

This problem has been fixed. I bought a new NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT and it fixed everything.
It has artifacts RARELY but can instantly and easily fixed with flushtexturecache();
