Author Topic: Help port forwarding a new router!  (Read 370 times)

So I bought the Linksys WRT110 wireless router today and I installed it and it works fine for joining games. So I went ahead and read all the port forwarding tutorials and tried to port forward it. I haven't been able to get it to work yet. I've gone into my router setup menu and set it to static ip, but when I do that, it doesn't let me connect to the internet. Also, when I try forwarding ports 28000-28030, it won't let me save the changes because it needs an ip address (Although when I type in the one I have, it comes up with an error). Sorry if this was confusing, I'll try to explain it better if nobody can understand it.

AGH!!! I screwed myself over! I was messing around in the settings, and now I can't even go to the router's setup page. Yes, I've typed 192.160.1.1 or whatever it is (Can't remember the exact thing if that's wrong). Any help there?

The best I can tell you to do is retry all of the 192.168.1.1 gateways until you find it again. Otherwise... idk what to tell you. Were you able to at least forward your ports?

No I wasn't able to.

Update! I have gotten the router re-setup and re-connected to the internet. Now I need to try to port forward it.
