Dedicated looks it is dead

when i start a dedicated and i try and join it, it seems to be dead. but:
my friend can join it but i cant. i am playing on the same computer as the one hosting the ded then i tried hosting the ded on another computer with the same BL_ID as the 1st computer but its still dead. do i need to buy a new BL_ID to join my own ded? if you do is there another way to solve this problem?

Never should you "Have" to another BL_ID.That wouldn't fix anything.

Make sure you have blockland running when you open the dedi file.

Nope. Click 'Query LAN' instead of 'Query Internet' to find your server and join it. The name is shortened in that list for some reason.
