how do you use add-ons?

im trying to use add-ons but i can't. can i get some help here?
BTW i have a mac

Put the .zip file in your add-ons folder and start Blockland. Click the "Start a game" button, and find the button that says "Add-Ons" on it. Check the box next to the name of your add-on, and then start the game.
