Author Topic: Heat Sensing Bricks Tutorial  (Read 1008 times)

So, after looking at Masterlegodude's tutorial, I decided to share some of my own creative eventing knowledge.
And yes, this is simple, and many may know it, but I thought the people who didn't might find this useful for a sci-fi build or dance pad, or whatever =P

So, this is really simple. This basically teaches you a cool way to make a color pad that senses where the player is.
Example pic:

Thats the finished product for what I used this for.

What to do: Make a new brick, I used a 1x1 flat with a print of nothing for a sleek look. Then, you add these events to it:

Then just duplicate that to make a big square like in the other pic and then walk over it. There should be a trail of color following you.

And BTW, pics really don't do this justice. I recommend you try this before you flame me about how it doesn't do anything.
And dont be afraid to add different colors on them. It can make it look 10x cooler, but takes 10x longer.
And finally, for the lazy ones who dont feel like re-making it, here is my save. Note: The pad is in the secret bed easter egg that everyone should know by now.

That's really cool, it's even better if you have more colors though.

Yeah, I would do it myself if I wasn't to lazy. Maybe once summer comes.

Why not take that and add more collor in such as
Delay       Color
0               Red
200           Green
400           Dark Blue
600           Light Blue
800           Black

I got this Idea off of Splintercell.  Its just a suggestion, I never really thought of your idea, looks fun to try out sometime.

See, think about the possibilitys! And btw, huge touch screen computer with mouse anyone?

I see it now...

Haha, I still have that save in my v9's saves folder. :o

Awesome way to get creative with events, I will certainly use this.

i make these all the time, i find it works better with cancel events to stop it flashing

i sometimes use these, i learnt from badspot, on one of tapes servers

I'm pretty sure you can just use CancelEvents instead of resetting to the normal colour. ut nit doesnt make much of a difference.

Yah, but with mine you can make it so it stays as a certain color if you want it to.
