Author Topic: Need a new power supply, please help.  (Read 894 times)

My old power supply burned out after about 10 months of use, and now I need a new one. I have no idea what brands are good and long lasting, and which are not. I need at least a 680W.

Here's the one I ordered. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709015

Is 10 months a good amount of time for one to last? Is it a bad idea to just replace it by buying the same one again?

If you need any more info, just let me know.

I've had my 750 W Thermaltake PSU for three years. Sunbeam is a stuff brand and you should cancel if possible.

Let's see, reliable brands are: Antec, Silvestone, Cooler Master, Thermaltake, OCZ, and Corsair. Probably missing a few but that's a good list.

You don't understand, I linked to my old one that I ordered last July.

Well then that's why it burned out.

I just bought a new one not but a while ago (perhaps you remember, perhaps not) It's a 600 W, but I don't remember the brand.

I'll open up the case in a minute and take a look.

EDIT: I mean I'm doing this because the guy at the computer store (not Best Buy, I mean an actual computer specialty store) told me it was one of the better ones to have for gaming. Unless that's not what you're looking for. But as far as I know you, then you want a gaming.
