I have an Eko Florentine and I know there are a few guitar aficionados on the forums and I was curious if anyone could give me insight to this pick up switch system.  It has 4 switches that can be pushed down into an engaged position, causing the others to go back up.  They are labeled 2, 1, 0, and M.  There are two pick ups and the 2, 1, and 0 switches cause it to sound different, but both pickups are always on.  The M switch mutes it, so I assume the M stands for mute.  I've looked everywhere for information on this system but I couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if anyone here has run into anything like this.

Here are pictures of it.

I read that this is a semi acoustic guitar so the M is for acoustic playing.

You are sure both pickups are on in all settings (besides M of course)?

A quick test is to push a string onto each pickup, one pickup at a time.  If it makes a pop when it contacts the pole, then the pickup is active.

The switches could also change the wiring to make the pickups run in series, like a humbucker; in parallel, like 2 single coils; or have something to do with phase shifting.

Hmm, it seems that both of them are still on, like I said, but less sensitive to string vibration as you go down the numbers.

I wonder if this type of system has a specific name or anything.

I guess 2 uses the top one, 1 uses the bottom, and 0 uses both pick ups.

My guitar does that, but it uses just a flick switch.

Again, all pickups are on no matter what switch I press.

did you do my little test thing?

Yes, I had done that before and also used an Ebow and that's how I knew they were both on the first time I said it.
