Author Topic: Authentication Fail.  (Read 511 times)

In the middle of hosting my server, it crashed with an authentication fail. What is this?

Not sure what happened, but my server crashed as well. Same problem. I kept trying to host again, then it gave me the DNS error. It's working fine now.

Its a fail on your key, or something to do with that, i don't know what causes it tough

It happens when someone else uses your key, but I'm not sharing with anybody. Perhaps it was a problem with my connection to the master server. The DNS error makes it seem like my internet options screwed up. I hope I don't got that stupid DNS virus. =(

Bump. This started happening again.

Well... I have known this to happen if your internet drops out (mine does regularly... dodgy ISP and router)... It drops you out but sort of leaves you connected if you know what I mean....
Its like multi logging in, but you are the only computer logged in...
I dont know whether that makes sense... I know I know what I mean.... I know it doesnt provide a direct sollution but I hope it may provide some insight into what is happening.

My internet has been sucking lately. I go into local access only alot now for random reasons.

Q: I get kicked out of a server with the message "Authentication Failed"
A:
One of the following has occured:
    * Someone is using your key from a different IP address
    * Someone is using your key from your IP, but has changed the name on the account (from the main menu)
    * Internet failure for the host
    * Master server is down (unlikely but possible)

As someone said, It was probably your internet.

As the ever reliable Verizon continues to stuff on me, I will assume that is the problem. Locking for now.
