Author Topic: Sticky-bound threads - Headed more South than North  (Read 462 times)

Alright guys, I'm starting to see a rise in topics asking to be stickied. (Stickied? Stuck? Whatever.)

I'm sure a lot of us appreciate what you're trying to do, but here's the thing: The people those topics are meant for won't read them. Badspot even said, "The target audience of this post would never take the time to read something that long.  This post is pointless." in a topic geared towards people from Roblox.

As far as I'm concerned, a pretty large amount of incoming members are going to be the same way about the other topics around here. People don't even read the duplicator topic in General Discussion, so we have to put up with all these topics about "I don't trust myself wtf" and such.

That being said, I think the likelihood of Badspot stickying any of these topics is very slim. The only new sticky topics I've seen since V11 came have been in the Modification forums, despite the dozen or so topics made that everyone wants as a sticky. I may not know what Badspot's thinking, but from what he's shown through his actions (or rather, lack of) and posts, I'm going to guess that not many threads are going to be stuck up at the top any time soon. If he stuck all of the help threads that have been made in the last few months, we might as well just have a full page of sticky threads.

tl;dr - Most threads people made that were meant to be stickies aren't going to become stickies.

Also, the DOF screenshots topic was stickied recently.

Justin said what I was gonna say.

And I made that thread. :3

I was just trying to help them and it got locked. I guess maybe I should just let people adjust on their own.

I haven't noticed many of these to be honest, but I'm sure they are their... I have a knack for missing things like that.
