How to make terrain?

When i'm in mission editor, and i press f4, and i pick terrain block out of the explorer type thing on the right, I cannot make Terrain. It just doesn't work. Help?

If you're trying it on Slate, it won't work because slate has no terrain, the floor is just a giant interior.

But. How. Do. I. Make. Terrain. On. A. [/stupidperiods] Map like slate!?
I just can't make it. Should I just edit another map?

Use the first map there, it's just like Slate but it has terrain. Ideal for starting maps from scratch.
