Author Topic: Reseting my router's password-what does it all do?  (Read 299 times)

Well, I finally figured out how to reset my password. Except, I read somewhere that all the "settings" would be erased. What does it mean by that? Will it clear my network so my brothers' computers, my Xbox 360 and my Wii will have to start from scratch getting into the network? And - will I even have to make a new network?
I just don't want to be screwing all the electronics in my house that use internet up! (which is about 40-50% of my electronics anyway :P)

BTW - forgot to mention this - I am just needing to reset my router's password just to get my own BL server. And, my router is a linksys, model WRT54G. That might help.

Depends if it uses a custom WEP/WPA key or one that's on the bottom of the router. Also depends on whether you have connection settings stored on the router. You'd need to change all of those back to their defaults otherwise.
