Author Topic: Blender Lighting & Random Backfaces?  (Read 802 times)

Hello.
I am currently having problems exporting with Blender.
I used the exact method DarkStar uses.
I do all of the material mapping and such, and they don't appear in game.
The lighting also looks really, REALLY bad.

I also get random backfaces in the model, as if I did something terribly wrong.

If you could help, I would appreciate it.

you have to go to textured view mode to see backfaces. then ctrl f and reverse the backfaces.

Ok, now what about the lighting?

I think that also fixes lighting.
No. It is scaling in object mode. You have to then add a cube and select the object and the cube and ctrl J to join them then delete the cube. Do this for each and every object in the scene.

Ok, if you're wondering, here's my exact method.
Add the Mount Point, Rotate it, Parent Model, done.

Did you texture it correctly?

Yes.
I hit F5, add a new Material (with object selected), change colors, name ('red', 'yellow', 'gray25', etc.), repeat for as many materials as I need.
Is that correct?

No. It is scaling in object mode. You have to then add a cube and select the object and the cube and ctrl J to join them then delete the cube. Do this for each and every object in the scene.

it works for me sometimes... >-<
