Author Topic: Graphics Card for Laptop?  (Read 1073 times)

Yes, I know I have a similar topic like this, but this one is for my Laptop. I am currently wondering if it would be possible to get a NVidia 6600 for it. My laptop is a HP G71 Notebook PC Model. This is to see if I am able to run Left4Dead. I went on "CAN YOU RUN IT?" and it says my Processor:
Code: [Select]
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz, ~2.2GHz
Can not handle it. If you need any other Information about my Laptop's Graphics, please tell me.

That processor is terrible, and I'm sure you have integrated graphics with a processor that bad.
No chance of upgrading to a better MXM graphics card.

You can't modify the stuff in a laptop without risking breaking it.
Get a new comp, preferably build one so you don't waste money. That's my only solution for you.

Wrong.
You can upgrade a processor in most laptops, as well as RAM. Graphics cards can only be replaced in laptops if they're huge "desktop replacement" laptops.

Yes but a lot of stuff in laptops are integrated bullstuff.
Didn't know about upgrading RAM and CPUs, though.

Ok I decided to just get a better Graphics card for my PC and play more Advanced Graphics Games on that. But the thing is, on CAN YOU RUN IT, I don't have a high enough Graphics Card, or CPU and CPU Speed. Could I still run Left 4 Dead or any Valve game with just a better Graphics card? What could I do about the CPU?

Post your CPU. Sometimes, Can You Run It is glitched.

I have integrated graphics :c

But luckily I also have a PCI-E slot for a new graphics card. But there is not a lot of room, so I'm afraid that any card I get won't fit :I

I've got an ATi HD4650 1GB that's pretty small and it runs stuff like GTA IV and L4D2 on max detail with great framerates.

If your CPU isn't good enough, it isn't good enough. Getting a better graphics card won't make your CPU better.

:o Think it would fit in a hp pavillion slimline? or better yet, If you could meassure your card on 4 parts, length, height, width, and the length of that metal part that sticks out the back, I could see if it works. Think you could do it?

I'm fairly sure the length of the metal part is always the same, but ok. Do you work with CM or inches?
