It seems he hit his faceplate on the pole. If he were to hit it anywhere else on the helmet, he would've been injured, but not killed.

No he pretty much hit the pole backwards, I imagine he died of internal bleeding not head trauma.

Just saw the video.

Don't see why so many people are so sad. Its just some person dying by collision with a column. If badspot died this same exact way, would you all act exactly the same, or be more or less sad about it?

I remember the vid of the reporter getting his head sawed off by some angry muslims.
Everyone was calling him brave.
Well I seen him screaming and crying like a bitch before they even started.
That's not brave.

I don't think its a good idea to glorify people JUST because they died.
In reality, this luger was far from winning anything ever. His death only reminded people that there is even athletes in that country at all.
