Punch Packet

--- Quote from: zenloth on February 17, 2010, 04:55:45 PM ---When connecting to a dedicated server which is hosted on your own computer, you need to use the "query LAN" option, rather than internet.
If this does not work, you will need to change/confirm the UPnP settings on your router.

It works for my computer now, but my friends are getting the same Sending Punch Packet... problem.

Some routers may require you to "save and restart" or something to apply settings, you may wish to try that. Also double check that your UPnP is enabled, if I try to enable mine through the web interface it doesn't work and I ended up using telnet to enable it.

I do have a mac airport. I saw somewhere that NAT is the same as UPnP and so I have that enabled. The airport utility did make me restart the airport.

Sadly, NAT is not the same as UPnP, and I believe I read somewhere that Airports don't support UPnP. This means you will have to port forward (ye olde fashione method). There is a sticky at the top of this page if you need a tutorial on the port forwarding.
I don't have an Airport so if someone wants to correct me on the UPnP status, feel free.
