Processor Clock Speed    300MHz

That looks pretty slow, but I guess it's only $100...

Yea the first one is pretty cheap (in a bad way).

It IS pretty slow. It probably isn't enough to even run Windows.

You could barely run Linux on it probably if it doesn't already have a custom OS.

I recommend the Eee PC Seashell for how fast it runs.

I have one :o.

You won't be able to run Windows on that laptop. I doubt Microsoft Office will run. You may have to stick with something light like a combo of Google-docs and a Linux OS.

Shot in the dark, but how 'bout that one?

Windows CE is a mobile version of Windows. Barely.

Show me an example of what it looks like?

Nope. Minimum requirements for Windows XP are...

  • Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) processor or faster (300 MHz is recommended)
  • At least 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM (128 MB is recommended)
  • At least 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available space on the hard disk
  • CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
  • Keyboard and a Microsoft Mouse or some other compatible pointing device
  • Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (800 x 600)or higher resolution

The 2GB HDD means you essentially won't have room for anything but the bare OS. Even temporary files could easily fill it up. The screen resolution is also too small.

Ubuntu, a popular Linux distro, requires at least 4GB of hard disk space. You could run Puppy Linux of an attached USB flashdrive but that is far from an ideal solution.

Okay...
Thanks from stopping me from buying it.
Any one wanna help me look for a good cheap net book?
