Graphics card failure

My brother wants to play and he got a newish graphics card for his old computer. The old graphics card worked for blockland but this one produces static images.

Your PSU may not be providing enough power to support the new card. I recommend checking your PSU rating against a calculation of your components. http://educations.newegg.com/tool/psucalc/index.html something like this is good for getting a rough idea of how much power you are using.

Also try updating drivers.

Make sure your motherboard supports the Card's features aswell.
