| BL crashes when trying to start an internet game |

I can run a single-player server and join online games without issue, however when I go to launch my own internet game it freezes. By that I mean that nothing occurs and no other buttons can be pressed and the game must be shutdown through the task manager. For troubleshooting I have tried running only with the default add_ons and by using a fresh install of BL to a new location; both failed to resolve the issue. It has been awhile since I've hosted an online game so I can't say if this is a recent issue and/or a result of an update. I've attached the console log from the fresh install of BL. Also attached is a screenshot of the DOS window after it stops working. |

If you've got an ATi video card, turn off Catalyst A.I. This is incompatible with Blockland, and will cause you to crash when loading. |

Unfortunately I am using an Nvidia card so that likely isn't the issue. It is really quite strange. I can launch my own singleplayer/LAN servers just fine which leads me to believe it is a networking issue, but at the same time I've never had a game crash before over such a thing. |

This is an issue with some routers returning weird info when asked for their UPnP details. Either it doesn't return anything and the game sits there waiting until it does, or it returns malformed details which blow up Blockland. You can try starting a server and leaving it frozen for about 5 minutes, It should reach a timeout and just continue starting the server. This is an issue with your router though - and v15 allows you to disable UPnP so you can host via the port forwarding method only as before. |
