I've downloaded that 'Netbattle' simulator, is there a way to test a created team against a CPU or randomly generated opponent just to test strategies rather than another person who's going to obliterate me instantly with theirs?

Nope, multiplayer only. Also, Shoddy Battle is better.

I tried but every server only allows one connection or something so I can't join twice and battle myself.
