The bow on it's own is not designed to be used as a melee weapon, but that is where the blade part comes in.
Either, the ends of the bow are sharpened and shaped as a blade or there is a small blade attached to the ends.
One way or the other, it wouldn't work out that fine IRL, but that's why it is a fantasy part of the medieval weapon list.
Also, like you can shoot fireballs from some kind of staff (at will). :cookieMonster:
Deadliest reflex could be done, the chainsaw can cut off body parts too...
