Bump.

I thought that this idea would be more popular...

It is.

Summon spells would be awesome, as well as higher level elemental magic. (Fire Lv2, Ice Lv2)

Welknair:

Well, you can judge an idea's relative popularity by the number of votes and the number of posts. Not many of either atm...

Anyways, summon spells would indeed by very cool however they would be some of the most difficult to make and as such I didn 't suggest them myself. You are talking about spawning bots, right? Bots are spawned from vehicle spawn pads. The only practical way this could be done would be to have a side area full of nothing but bots and have an event that is triggered when the player uses the summon spell which modifies the bot to only attack the other team and then teleport to the player and begin fighting, probably for a specified quantity of time.

As for varying degrees of the existing spells, I'm all for it. I recently discovered the wonder of making simple playertypes and I'm brainstorming ideas for an RP or TDM. "Dungeons and Blockheads". Think about it, using VCE, Minigame events (including on onMinigameKill) and a whole ton of addons as well as my own playertypes, I could make a pretty well functioning rpg based off of DnD. However, there are spellcasters who don't use any elemental spells. I was planning on modding the light magic to only use on right click for the pally's lay on hands.

Wow, that was majorly off-topic. Sorry. What I was trying to say was that a weakened light magic could take the form of a standard healing spell and that improved spells could have slightly different effects besides just being a bigger fireball or whatnot.

Fair enough statement. However, it's hard for me to see how people would be against this idea. (Other than the summoning spell, which would be out of sheer difficulty to script) I think the lack of posts is just a matter of either most people being indifferent, or the majority of the forum hasn't seen this topic yet.

I've wanted to do something like this for a long time too, so more spells to choose from would definitely open up more possibilities.

Just simple healing spells would be fantastic. As for higher level magic, I had something like this in mind:

Level 1: Attacks one target (Fireball)
Level 2: Area damage or hits more than one target for low damage (Ring of Fire)
Level 3: Very high damage [one target] or high damage [multiple targets] (Giant Fireball, Meteor Shower)

I still like the idea of more utilitarian spells.

Ooh, what about buffs?
