Why does it seem when I host a server one of 2 problems happen?

Whenever I host an online server, either the emitters(jets certain weapon bullets and all emitters) don't show up. Or peoples authentication fails and after a bit, mine does. I don't know how this is happening, but I want it to stop. I don't know if its a add on I have or what.
