You didn't think at all. You just made the helmets nearly indestructible since most weapons do less than 50 damage and you want them to only break with a 50% chance AND instantly above 50 damage.

What is the average damage of your snipers?

I don't think damage should be a factor because the 5.56mm can penetrate more then the 7.62mm (which is a battle rifle round).
