I was thinking it instead of firing automatic it would fire 3 shots faster then normal and then have a small delay between bursts.

I wrote a function for shooting projectiles. I just have to call that function with some parameters like spread, bullet datablock, etc. So making different ammo types wouldn't be a problem.
The only problem is:

How shall the choosing system look like?

I was thinking about that also. Sometimes the animations don't play.
