Author Topic: Gravity Cat's Add-On Dump - Particle_ItemSparkles released!  (Read 2257343 times)

sniping with the snipers in this pack is really hard, but yet easy. once i joined the server, and about 20 minutes after i was on 2nd place, but the guy over me had about 300 points.

I find sniping would be easier if the bullet didn't appear to be coming from the right of the scope. It's kinda disorienting. I don't remember ever having this issue months ago when it was in digitals fort wars.

What?

I'm changing all weapons to raycasting now. Yes, instant hit, but with gravity/etc. As soon as I get it right I'll upload it to my server. This is just for testing. I want to see how it works out.

[Edit]
Okay, was easier than I expected. I'll adjust the gravity now. Everything will be the same. Same spread, same "bullet" drop. Just faster... alot.

Gravity meaning a spread to the bottom? Also save them Raycasting weapons, i would like to have those when this is released.

Exactly. Well, let us first see if it's better or worse.

Those bullets would have to heavier than hell to be gravity affected while going faster than light trololol

What?

You know how most weapons in blockland have the projectile come out of the barrel, which is to the right of the screen. With these, its the same thing. They shoot out of the barrel, which is to the right of the screen. But I noticed when sniping, that the projectile still comes from the right of the screen, rathern than the center. This only very very very slightly messes with performance, but it is disorienting to me. But no one else complains so its nothing to really worry about.

As far as the raycasting test thingy. Is there a delay from when you shoot to when it hits? Because even with gravity and spread, instant hitting is too easy because you don't have to calculate horrizontally, only vertically. I personally will be 100% ok with raycasting as long as there is a delay.

That really won't be much of a problem, now that they're all raycasting. Unless the guns fire tracers...

No. This never happened. And no delay yet. Last time I tried I failed.

It happened to me.

Well if you can't get it working right, keep the projectiles, because blockheads move too slowly to be having instant hit weapons, which I think you know already.

Also, I don't suppose you've made any progress on vertical recoil yet? Because this horizontal recoil is a bitch.

I think I'm just about to get it right. And the vertical recoil is just plain worse (and awesome). But either only the host or noone.

Are you almost done with the graveyard map?

bummer. Can you tell us the percent done?
Not really.

And I'll continue work tomorrow. Someone is now the center of all my attention, sorry :P
