You're lucky, but no really they are very very buggy.
Check the forums they are a written bug.

You completely misunderstood what I meant. Let's say I have a depot, and then block it off with a wall or flood gates.
When the caravan comes, the floodgates are not open, then I open them later AFTER the caravan arrives.
Will it enter the depot still?
