My miner just dug into the volcano via my magma channel, to supply magma for my smelters. He proceeded to run five tiles before falling asleep. He was incinerated on the spot, and his pick later melted. Oh the joys of magma.

Holy stuff the HFS is coming through the magma.

My turn has ended, and I suppose it's time for the storytelling part. Hurray. Uhh, I'll do it from the perspective of my dwarf as I'm sure you all will do your stories the same way. So yeah, let's get started with this, shall we?

We began packing provisions late into the year of 346. We had all the basic things, food, crutches, boring stuff like that. The Mountainhomes lent us great gifts, of steel picks. They claimed the picks were useful for mining. We also packed a massive amount of alchohol, and I don't think anybody has a problem with that. With everything packed up, we set off South into the untamed wilderness.

We arrived at our destination quite a while later, for all the snow had melted by the time we stopped travelling. Our expedition leader, Kearn, pointed out that the surrounding fields were best suited for an above ground fort, but Dropshock argued it would be better to find a mountainside. So the our group headed northwest, until we found a mildly steep bank. Kearn thought it would be best to slide right down the face, and we did. At the bottom of this slope was a magnificent creek, and some lovely cliffs. Dropshock pointed out that this was a fine place to settle, and everyone agreed.

A day later, Choneis and I began digging into the mountain side, within a month, we had mostly everything we needed dug out. All seven of us began hauling our provisions and supplies inside. Cheemo looked at Chalize sleeping on the floor and decided that having beds was a requirement. I had to dig out the sleeping quarters on my own, as Choneis was elsewhere, probably slacking off. Of course, we need wood for the beds, so the woodcutter went into the forest, and everyone had to haul wood. After two months of hauling things in and out of the fortress, we were getting pretty sick of it.

During early summer, Urist thought that we should do some irrigation. So Choneis and I were tasked with digging out five rooms, and irrigating them. We started with digging out the rooms, and while we did that, we realized that water was right above us. Irrigating was a simple matter of digging up, and letting the water fall down through the hole, filling the rooms below.  Of course, it wasn't that easy. I was digging in one the five rooms, chipping away at a wall, trying to fill the room with water. Now, I wasn't expecting the blast of water that came from behind, slamming me against the wall. The room was filling quickly, and I was pinned against the wall. Choneis was also in the room, who ran, opening the door holding the water in these five rooms, and promptly flooding most of the fortress halls. The only good this that came out of this? I survived, however, I will be speaking with Choneis, about how he decided to leave me to die.

Another month later, migrants arrived, something none of us were looking forward to. Now we had to manage the fortress, while feeding these useless people from the Northern regions. To our surprise, only three of them came, and that wasn't so bad. Shortly after, the rooms that were previously irrigated, had drained, and our farmers had the fun task of setting up farms. I'm glad that I'm not them. Kearn also had us dig out permanent housing, and that took awhile.

Now, a while into autumn, migrants have come again, and it's good thing our farmers have been supplying a massive amount of food for us. Winter is almost upon us, and we must begin preparations. Our crafter has been working hard to create crafts for when the merchants come.

Traders have arrived! We traded most of our crafts for some training weapons, hopefully that will be useful in the future. Shortly after, we decided to steal all of the items the merchants brought with them.

Winter has come and gone, and a new year is beginning! Let us hope it was as great as the first one.

That concludes my turn, and I hope you all enjoyed the story. It's the first time I did something like that, so let me know if I messed up. Here is an overview of the main level of the fort.

Fuuuuccckk
You do realize the stuff they bring next year is determined by how much profit they gained last year, right?

Never steal from Dwarves, Elves yes, Humans.. Maybe.
