I always use the power of Z levels.

Since it has only 11 Z levels. It takes a dwarf about 11~ Movements to get from top defence to bottom.
Though the average dwarf has to move only 9.
All hallways are 3 wide, except for service hallways (Pipe line areas, Adventurer Exploring, and general dwarven tricks.)
