That's not bad if it can run those games.
Most laptops these days still have trouble doing that.
See to buy a laptop that can run high end games these days it cost almost twice as much for a laptop than a desktop. Downfall of laptops though are most of them can't have parts replaced at all :/

my best friend who lives in philly
her entire damn family has their own super laptops, 4 50" flatscreen TVs, and 2 storage tubs full of video games.

im pretty sure he tried that with l4d i put graphics to the minimum and yet i still get ultra lag

turn the shader in l4d1 down to as low as it goes it will work for sure did for me
