Author Topic: Steam beta bug?  (Read 2201 times)

Well, I started up Steam beta for the first time (it worked when I installed and restarted Steam, not my comp). So, when I turned on my computer, it started up fine, and with its shmexy interface. But it isn't recognizing my internet connection. I restarted it twice, both different ways, but it isn't working. It says it's re-trying constantly, but I don't believe it.

What do I do about this?

EDIT: or downgrade safely?

Server maintenance?
Just wait ten minutes or so.

EDIT: Is it not starting up steam at all? Still at the "Connecting to Steam: <username>" window?

Strange, I have this too.

Ah

I have no connection to Steam servers at all, I'm using the DC server.

If you can open the friends list and it says "Cannot connect to Steam server" or something like that, just wait a little while.
Otherwise, no idea.

No, Steam opened up fine. It just doesn't like the internet connection or server repair. Something like that.

Don't restart it or anything, just wait a little bit.
It was doing it to me about twenty minutes ago.

Oh, and how do I downgrade? Without removing my games?

You don't.
Why would you even want to?

You don't.
Why would you even want to?

If beta runs into some serious bugs?

It's not Beta anymore?
Hurr.

I suppose I got it right before it wasn't beta or something, because I can clearly remember seeing it say the version was beta

The servers are down, i cant access steam cloud or comunity, just wait a bit.

It's been working for me for about 45 minutes.

It still isn't working for me
