It looks like it's set in Vietnam, there wasn't actually alot of armed conflict during the cold war...

If you want a really long game you're in the wrong place, go play ME2 or Oblivion or something.

Actually from what I can tell it appears to take place over multiple time periods which will probably make multiplayer even loving stufftier and more unbalanced than WaW.

There is no reason for a FPS to be short, and FPS can be long if it has an interesting story, and innovates the game mechanics beyond Aim, shoot, run.
