Unfortunately, all the item names are sent to each client when they join. You could do it through admin commands that give the items to you, but it wouldn't have a name in your inventory without some hack. Personally, I use a slash comand that puts it in your hand like /wand or /magicwand.

What I'd do is make a box somewhere noone can get, then use Admin Orb / Comet (etc.) to get into it, and put the weapon / item in there, or wait for someone to make your idea.
