The person who did the sound pack made some dumb decisions on what sound goes where. A handful are good though, to give you some ideas, I liked portal opening and closing sounds for maximizing and minimizing windows, "Hello, and, again, welcome to the Aperture Science Computer-Aided Enrichment Center" (GLaDOS) for turn-on, "Sorry, we're closed" (Turret) as failed device connection, "Shutting down..." (Turret) for shut down, "Unknown error" (Turret) for errors, "Can I help you?"
