Viper VTOL Aircraft - Touching Up
Xerces:
I've been working on the nacelle for a VTOL aircraft I've been planning to make and was wondering if anyone could be so kind as to make the body for me, give me a bit of inspiration, or give me some advice. All three plus constructive criticism are welcome.
As of 5/14, Ive modified and improved the design.
6/30 - Vertical/horizontal stabilizers added.
7-1 - Model spawns properly in game, collision not working. Working on a scaling solution.
TomTheGeek:
The engine looks great for sketchup. The topic name VTOL got m attention for playing Warzone 2100 for about 12 hours. (Added up.)

Haha. It's a coincidence. I just though that "Viper" would be a great name, no connections to the WZ 2100 Chassis.
I would have made the props more detailed but I made them rectangular to keep the poly count down.
ArmyUnit:
That's a nice model, but I think you should cut down the polys on the outside covering. (if you are going to use it for blockland)
Like in this:
each cover is just a octagon.
Also for the body, I suggest keeping it simple at first, and then add more details once you get the basic shape right.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try and make my props wider as well.
I did some sketches last night regarding the fusilage, and I plan to put those into a model today.
Each Nacelle is about 255 polys currently, so multiply that by two and 200 for the body. Grand approx. total: 650 polys
