mininuke with less oompf and lag

Whatever happened to BIG nukes.

I remember that there was a nuke that was just a grenade. Had an explosion so huge, took out an entire football field that I had saved.

The mini-nuke would probably be on if it didn't come with a huge explosion, and an emitter or events to spawn an explosion and projectile.
But, I don't think that's possible.

It got failed because it overwrote the default rocket projectile or damage or something, not because the explosion was big.
