Is HL2 from TOB just HL2 part 1 and part 2 together?

Is Half Life 2 just Half Life 2 part 1 and Part 1 pushed into one other game? Or is Half Life 2 and Half Life part 1/2 3 different games? Like different areas enemies etc.?

Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1, and Half-Life 2 Episode 2 are all different games.

So.... do they all tell a different part of the story or whatever? I mean is it worth playing p1/2 if I have played/finished Half Life 2?
